At the presentation on July 10, Samsung showcased the seventh generation of Galaxy Watch. They are not different in design from last year's Watch 6; all changes are internal, including a new Exynos W1000 processor, additional health tracking features, and support for neural networks.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, the watches can automatically respond to messages on behalf of the user. Initially, this feature will only work with Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, but it will later be available on other devices. The list of supported languages is not specified; it is quite likely that it will work only in English (at least initially). Neural networks are also responsible for some health-related functions, including predicting activity levels based on sleep data.
Health tracking features include ECG, sleep apnea detection, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen level monitoring, and blood pressure monitoring. All of this is handled by the improved BioActive sensor.
Traditionally, the watches are offered in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm. The Super AMOLED display with Always On mode is protected by sapphire glass. Compared to the previous generation, the built-in storage capacity has increased: 32GB instead of 16GB.
The battery capacity has not changed, but since the new processor, although more powerful, is also more energy-efficient, the battery life remains the same as the Galaxy Watch 6: 40 hours without charging.
The 5ATM and IP68 water resistance standards indicate that the watches can be used for showering and swimming (but it is safe to do so only in fresh water).
