The camera has received a new main sensor, while the 48 MP telephoto camera is 30% more light-sensitive. Google does not provide a percentage increase in detail or dynamic range, so it is more accurate to describe the improvement specifically in terms of light sensitivity.

A Large Body That Does Not Try to Impress With Its Shape

The Pixel 11 Pro XL measures 162.7 × 76.5 × 8.5 mm and weighs 226 g. By comparison, the Pixel 10 Pro XL weighed 232 g at the same 8.5 mm thickness, so the new model is 6 g lighter but not thinner. It is still a large smartphone in the hand, but the body width remains reasonable for a 6.8-inch display. The aluminum frame feels solid in the palm, the matte rear panel collects fewer fingerprints, and the updated display protection is more than twice as scratch-resistant. The camera bar is 40% thinner, so it catches less on fabric when the phone is in a pocket, while the rear panel becomes almost flush when used with the official case.

Super Actua Performs Well in Bright Sunlight

The main feature of the XL is its 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1344 × 2992 and a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz. Outdoors, the screen remains legible even in bright conditions, while the low refresh rate indoors helps avoid unnecessary power consumption. The Camera Focuses on Light Sensitivity

Tensor G6 and Everyday Speed

Inside is the Tensor G6, designed not only for conventional computing but also for on-device AI tasks. The TPU is approximately 50% more powerful than the previous generation, while Gemini Nano operates faster and more efficiently. The 256 GB configuration comes with 12 GB of RAM, while the 512 GB and 1 TB versions receive 16 GB. In everyday use, the difference is felt not in attractive benchmark figures but in small details: the camera is ready for another shot faster, apps are less likely to be unloaded from memory, and switching from Google Maps to messaging and YouTube happens without noticeable pauses. Social media, music, navigation, and video present no difficulty for this hardware. There is enough performance for gaming as well, although Tensor continues to place greater emphasis on AI and image processing than on maximum graphics performance.

Android 17 and Gemini Become Part of the User Experience

Android 17 is closely integrated with Gemini Intelligence. The Pixel 11 Pro XL can use the context of what is happening on the screen, while new features such as Magic Capture, Rambler, and HiLight are designed for shorter interactions with the smartphone. HiLight is particularly interesting: a light indicator located near the camera can notify you of a call or Gemini interaction status even when the screen is facing down. As a result, notifications are less distracting while working. In terms of interface logic, Pixel remains close to stock Android, so switching from Samsung with One UI or more feature-rich skins requires little adjustment. Some AI features depend on region and language, which is worth considering in advance for users in Russia or Europe. 

Battery and Charging Have Become More Practical

The 5,115 mAh battery is formally smaller than last year’s 5,200 mAh unit by approximately 1.6%, yet the claimed battery life has increased from 24+ to 30+ hours. According to Google’s official estimate, this represents an increase of at least 25%. In a real-world routine — several hours of screen time, social media, YouTube, music, camera use, and GPS — the smartphone is designed to last a full day without constant monitoring of the battery percentage. Heavy gaming or continuous navigation will, of course, accelerate consumption. Charging is faster, however: a 45W USB-C charger can bring the battery to up to 75% in approximately 30 minutes, while Pixelsnap based on Qi2.2 supports up to 25W. Google also claims up to 15 hours of additional use after 15 minutes of wired charging.

After several days with the Pixel 11 Pro XL, it feels more like a careful refinement of last year’s design than a completely new device. It is 6 g lighter, has a display that is approximately 9% brighter, more scratch-resistant protective glass, and a noticeably reworked telephoto camera. According to Google, battery life has increased by at least a quarter, even though the battery itself has become smaller — highlighting the role of Tensor G6. The large display is convenient for movies, navigation, and work, the camera suits those who often shoot in the evening or use zoom, and 45W charging reduces some of the usual frustration associated with long charging times. The trade-offs remain: the body is large, gaming is not the primary focus, and actual 30+ hour battery life depends heavily on the usage scenario. Overall, this is a model for users who want a large Pixel with a capable camera, clean Android, and a strong focus on on-device AI features.
