Galaxy A35 best deals availability now

At the March 2024 presentation, the company Samsung introduced two phone models, A35 and A55. The younger model, A35, surprisingly has impressive characteristics, not only compared to its predecessor A34 but also to A55.

Design

Externally, both smartphones, the 35 and 55, are very similar and resemble the design of the S24. The key difference from their predecessors is that instead of a teardrop notch, there is a tiny hole for the front camera.

The A35 has a rear glass body, whereas the A34 had plastic. The protective glass has also improved and strengthened – Gorilla Glass Victus+ compared to Gorilla Glass 5 on the A34 version.

The changes did not affect the buttons, which are still located on the right side, with nothing on the left. At the top is a slot for SIM cards and a memory card (hybrid). At the bottom is a Type-C port and stereo speakers.

Display

The display has not changed compared to the A34, with a diagonal of 6.6 inches. The matrix is Super AMOLED, with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. However, brightness has increased to 1650 nits, compared to 1000 nits on the predecessor. Some users note that this is a minor change, but in sunny weather, visibility issues with the A35's display do not occur. The smartphone also received an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. The younger model only had the option to choose between 60 and 120 Hz. The adaptive refresh rate provides a smooth scrolling experience.

Technical Specifications

Replacing the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, installed in the A34, is the updated Exynos 1380. By the way, this chipset first appeared in the A54.

Comparing the A35 and A34, synthetic tests show an 18% increase in performance, and a 15% increase in graphical processes. It can be claimed that the smartphone can now handle more demanding games, such as Genshin Impact, though still at medium settings.

RAM is 6 or 8 GB, whereas the predecessor also had a 4 GB option. The storage capacity remains unchanged – 128 or 256 GB, with the possibility of expansion up to 1 TB with a memory card.

Cameras

The smartphone has 3 modules, but the main camera resolution has increased from 48 MP to 50 MP. The others: ultrawide and macro cameras remain unchanged. Even with a small improvement, the device takes photos with better quality, more sharpness, and detail. AI-based functions are preserved, allowing for scaling, removing background objects, and other features that were present in the A34.

The front camera has become more powerful, now with 32 MP compared to 13 MP in the predecessor.

The battery capacity remains the same – 5000 mAh, but thanks to the installation of a more energy-efficient chipset, the phone now lasts up to 26 hours of video playback.
