Differences Google Pixel 8 Pro from the previous model?
The Pixel 8 PRO from Google is the high-end version of the 8 series and is designed for a wide range of consumers. Compared to the previous series, the phone has received a number of innovative updates and a refreshed design.
Technical Specifications
The Pixel 8 PRO runs on Google's latest processor - Tensor G3. Additionally, the phone features the Titan M2 security chip. The manufacturer offers a large amount of RAM – 12 GB. Internal storage options in UFS 3.1 format are 128, 256, 512 GB, or even 1 TB. The chipset has become more powerful, with more useful AI features, overheating protection, and improved energy efficiency.
The smartphone comes with Android 14 OS. The manufacturer guarantees 7 years of OS updates and security patches. This is currently the longest support among all smartphone manufacturers.
The battery capacity is 5050 mAh. It also supports fast charging at 30 W.
Design
The manufacturer offers 3 color options: gray (nutty), black, and blue. The Pixel 8 PRO is made with a metal body, rounded edges, and a perfectly symmetrical frame on all 4 sides. The back of the phone is covered with matte glass that repels grease.
Like its predecessor, the rear cameras are placed on a horizontal plane. The phone also features a temperature sensor; if you bring the device close to a pan, you can measure the heat level (temperature in degrees).
There is an under-screen fingerprint sensor and face unlock functionality, which even works with banking applications.
Display
The smartphone features a large 6.7-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2992 x 1344 pixels. At its peak, brightness reaches 2400 nits, compared to the iPhone 15 Pro's 2000 nits.
Thanks to LTPO technology, the maximum refresh rate of the screen reaches 120 Hz. This means there will be no stuttering or lag during fast page scrolling. Additionally, the technology helps to save battery life.
Cameras
The front camera is 10.5 MP with autofocus.
The main camera consists of 3 lenses:
50 MP main sensor with optical image stabilization;
48 MP ultra-wide;
48 MP 5x optical zoom with optical image stabilization.
Significantly improved light sensitivity allows for higher quality shots in low light conditions. Color accuracy and contrast have also improved.
The Pixel 8 PRO is a straightforward and user-friendly smartphone that does not make users dig through menus. It comes with a minimal set of pre-installed apps and does not push notifications.
