Google often pleasantly surprises its fans. The Pixel 7a model is the most compact of the entire 7 series. But despite its size, the device features an interesting design, high-quality cameras, and a powerful processor.
Key Specifications
The phone has an 8-core processor manufactured by Google – the Google Tensor G2. The chipset was released in 2022 and is built on a 5-nanometer process. The GPU is the ARM Mali-G78 MP20, consisting of 20 out of 24 possible cores. In simpler terms, the GPU is quite powerful.
The smartphone also features the Titan M2 security chip, which checks the OS version for correctness before installation. It also prevents the installation of vulnerable, outdated versions and blocks attacks. The chip is also responsible for verifying the access code during device unlocking.
The RAM size is 8 GB, and the internal storage is 128 GB. The body protection level is IP67.
The battery capacity is 4385 mAh. There is wired fast charging at 18 W and wireless charging at 7.5 W.
Display and Design
The OLED screen diagonal is small by today's standards, just 6.1 inches. The resolution is 1080 x 2040 pixels. The refresh rate is 90 Hz. The display is bright and operates smoothly. The fingerprint sensor is under the screen.
The phone fits comfortably in the hand due to its compact size. The edges are rounded, and the body is made of glass, plastic, and aluminum. The back panel is glossy and comes in 4 colors: coral, blue, black, and white.
On the lower side are the charging port and speakers. On the right side is the volume rocker and the power button. On the left side is the SIM card slot.
Cameras
The rear camera has 2 lenses:
main 64 MP;
ultra-wide 13 MP.
The front camera is 13 MP.
The main camera takes photos with accurate color reproduction at maximum settings, as does the ultra-wide camera. Despite the lack of a macro camera, macro mode is available thanks to the macro mode and 2x zoom. The main camera module also features a 3D panorama function that provides minimal distortion and high photo quality.
The front camera, despite its small number of MP, takes clear photos with excellent color reproduction.
The Pixel 7a model is both beautiful and sleek. The phone can confidently be called a sub-flagship as it looks elegant. The segmented rear camera system, which can be considered the manufacturer's "trademark," is preserved.
