Differences Apple iPhone 15 Plus from the previous model?
Recently, Apple integrated the "Plus" version into its smartphone lineup. In 2022, the 14 Plus became quite a successful model, and likely for this reason, the decision was made to continue in the same vein. In 2023, users saw the 15 Plus model, which became even better compared to its predecessor.
Design
Both phones received a similar design, made from recycled aerospace aluminum with a protective oleophobic Ceramic Shield coating. However, the differences are still noticeable. The front bezels are thinner on the 15 Plus, which immediately visually expands the screen. Instead of the outdated notch, there is a multifunctional Dynamic Island.
In terms of size, both models are almost identical, and the changes are barely noticeable to the user.
The color palette has significantly changed and in the newer model is mainly represented by pastel soft shades: pink, green, yellow, blue, and, of course, black.
Display
Both phones have a screen diagonal of 6.7 inches and support LTP Super Retina XDR technology. One significant change is the increase in peak brightness to 2000 nits. The predecessor's brightness was only 1600 nits. Therefore, the 15 Plus model displays content better in bright sunlight.
Performance
The 15 Plus model received a 6-core A16 processor. It operates 20% faster than the 14 Plus chipset (A15). In 2022, such chipsets were only installed on Pro models. In addition to high performance, the processor has efficient energy consumption, which allows for extended battery life without increasing battery capacity.
The phone also received an advanced 5-core GPU chipset, allowing not only to view high-quality video content but also to play "heavy" graphic games without lag.
The amount of RAM has not changed and remains at 6 GB. However, the memory version is newer - LPDDR5, which operates faster. The flash memory size is, as always, selectable, from 128 to 512 GB.
Camera and Ports
The front camera has 12 MP, like the 14 Plus. However, improvements have been made to the bokeh effect and cinematic mode.
The main wide-angle camera received 48 MP, while the predecessor had only 12 MP. The Pro and Action Mode have also been improved.
Another significant improvement is the USB-C port instead of Lightning. This makes the phone more versatile and allows it to be charged with a single cable for all devices.
