Conceptually design Pro Max 13 and 14 versions have not changed. Stainless steel body, matte glass back, rounded side edges. The newer model is 2 grams heavier, which is completely unnoticeable, as is the body thickness increase of 0.2 mm. The color options have also remained the same: silver, gold, and graphite.
The differences include larger camera lenses, but the arrangement remains unchanged. The front side of 14 Pro Max received significant differences. Instead of a "notch", the phone received a "dynamic island". Now it's an oval cutout, not connected to the screen frame. The island changes its size depending on incoming messages and also provides information about the current device status.
Both phones have a 6.7-inch screen diagonal. The screen resolution has been slightly increased to 2790x1290 pixels, compared to 2778x1284 pixels for the predecessor.
The peak brightness has also been increased to 2000 nits, compared to 1600 nits for the predecessor. The automatic display brightness adjustment function is retained, but manual adjustment can significantly save battery capacity.
The screen-to-body ratio is 88.3%, compared to 87.4% for the predecessor.
Significant changes have been made to performance, with the 14 Pro Max featuring the A16 chipset, while the predecessor only had A15. The new processor has double the memory bandwidth. The new processor consumes 20% less battery power. In independent synthetic tests, the newer model showed a 21% performance improvement.
The RAM capacity remains unchanged at 6 GB. However, the speed has improved as the RAM of the newer model operates on 4 channels, while that of the predecessor operates only on 2. There have been no changes to the internal memory; it can be selected optionally from 128 GB to 1 TB.
The 14 Pro Max finally features a powerful main camera at 48 MP, while the 13 version only had 12 MP. Thanks to this innovation, photos are now clearer and higher quality, with a maximum photo resolution of 8000x6000 pixels. Due to improvements in the ultra-wide camera, light capture has increased, which has positively affected photo quality, especially in low light conditions.
The new model records video in 4K format, while the predecessor's maximum resolution was only 1080p.
The 14 Pro Max supports satellite operation and can even send an SOS signal when there is no cellular coverage. This feature will definitely appeal to travelers.
