Differences Apple iPhone 14 Pro from the previous model?
Each new iPhone promises something new. The company didn't overlook the iPhone 14 Pro, so it's interesting to understand how this new model differs from the iPhone 13 Pro.
Key Features
The 14 Pro received a powerful processor – A16, while the 13 model had A15. The chipset can perform 4 trillion operations with one photo in just 1 second. The processor consumes 20% less energy.
The manufacturer increased the RAM capacity, now it's 6 GB, compared to 4 GB in the predecessor. Additionally, the newer model features LPDDR 5 memory, whereas the predecessor only had version 4. There are no changes in the flash memory capacity, ranging from 126 GB to 1 TB.
The smartphone features an updated Bluetooth version – 5.3.
Display and Design
Despite the display size remaining at 6.1 inches, the resolution has significantly increased to 2556x1179 pixels, compared to 1170x2532 in the predecessor. The brightness has also been increased and can now reach 2000 nits in bright lighting conditions. Thanks to these innovations, the picture has become more realistic and vibrant, even under bright sunlight.
The Always On Display feature has been introduced. Now, even when the phone is in sleep mode, you can access necessary information, albeit in a limited capacity.
The phone's design has also been updated. The "notch" has been replaced with the "Dynamic Island," visually increasing the display size.
The screen response time has been significantly reduced to just 1 ms, compared to 4.8 ms in the predecessor.
Battery Life
There hasn't been a significant increase in battery capacity, it's now 3200 mAh instead of 3095 mAh. However, considering the reduction in processor energy consumption, there are still practical changes. The phone can now last for 23 hours of continuous video playback, compared to 22 hours.
Cameras
The 14 Pro model has received significant camera improvements. The main module is now 48 MP, compared to 12 MP in the predecessor. With the support of the Photonic Engine, photos are detailed and noise-free, even in low light. The ultra-wide camera has been improved to capture more light. There is support for Pro Raw mode. Optical stabilization has been improved, and the phone, like its predecessor, can shoot videos in 4K format. The new model features a cinematic mode.
The front camera remains at 12 MP, but the Photo Engine mode has been added, allowing simultaneous focusing on multiple objects. The selfie camera on the newer model can now shoot in 4K format.
