The iPad Pro model in 2022 has become even more powerful and productive. The device operates on the Apple M2 processor. 

Key Improvements

There are no external differences between the iPad Pro 12.9 2022 and 2021 models. However, there are many technical updates:

• The new M2 processor compared to M1 is more energy-efficient and powerful, ensuring fast and clear execution of all commands;

• Throughput has increased by 50% compared to the predecessor, now reaching 100 Gbit/s;

• The number of graphics cores has been increased;

Performance

The M2 chipset operates on 8 cores. The M2 performance is 15% higher than that of the M1. The graphics chipset has also undergone significant changes and now operates on 10 cores, compared to just 8 in its predecessor. As a result, processing speed and graphics display quality have increased by 30%.

The neural chipset has also become 40% more efficient. And the enhanced media processing has improved the capabilities of ProRes video playback. The RAM now operates 50% faster, thanks to the increased throughput of up to 100 Gbit/s.

There have been no changes to the amount of RAM, remaining at the same level – 8 GB or 16 GB. The same applies to the internal storage, which can be selected from 128 GB to 2 TB.

The device comes pre-installed with iPodOS 16, while the predecessor had version 15, but with the ability to upgrade to 16. The operating system allows for text translation in videos, resizing windows, multitasking with apps, arranging apps in tile mode, and much more.

Camera and Battery Life

There have been no changes to the main camera: 2 rear lenses with resolutions of 12 MP and 10 MP. Digital and optical zoom remain. The camera can shoot 4K video. These specifications are sufficient for comfortable video calls.

The front camera also retains all the characteristics of the previous version – 12 MP with a 122-degree field of view, 6 variations of portrait lighting, and the Center Stage option.

The battery capacity has also remained at the same level, at 40.88 Wh, which is quite sufficient for 10 hours of internet browsing without recharging.

It can be confidently stated that the 2022 model works much faster than its predecessor and has received a number of improvements for working with video.
