Today, Apple headphones (AirPods) can confidently be called a symbol of freedom. They combine an innovative approach, excellent sound quality, and stylish design.
Before the AirPods familiar to modern users appeared, many years passed. The development of fully wireless headphones began in 2010. The manufacturer had been producing wired headphones since 2001.
The presentation of the first wireless headphones took place in 2016 together with the seventh-generation iPhone. Users immediately showed interest in the new product, and the first batch was sold out within days. In the following years, new generations were released with improved features and design.
The first wired headphones from Apple, released in 2001 for the iPod, were a real breakthrough. Although they had a significant drawback—large speakers that did not fit comfortably in the ear canal—the sound transmission quality was quite high.
The updated wired headphones released in 2004 already featured an in-ear design and silicone tips—In-Ear Headphones.
The 2007 model became a full-fledged headset, as the headphones were equipped with a microphone. However, the manufacturer moved away from the in-ear design concept.
A year later, the iPod Nano headphones appeared. They featured a dual button and a changed connector. In the same year, the In-Ear model was released. It had a completely new design—an unusual triangular case for storing the headphones and a capsule-shaped case for silicone tips. The headphones even had removable drivers. This model was produced until 2012.
By 2016, modern wired headphones with a Lightning connector and a square case with rounded edges had taken shape. In the same year, wireless headphones were released, which continue to be produced today, improving with each new update.
The main advantages of AirPods include:
active noise cancellation mode;
comfortable in-ear design;
transparency mode;
high-quality sound;
intelligent features such as voice activation of the Siri assistant, automatic playback, and more;
sensors responsible for gestures and movement;
high battery life: without the case, the headphones last at least 5 hours, and the charging case extends battery life up to 24 hours.
Today, it is safe to say that AirPods are moving beyond the category of wireless headphones and are becoming part of the smart home, bringing every user closer to the latest innovative technologies.
