Samsung introduces the S9 Ultra model as the perfect tool for business and creative projects. This gadget is designed to maximize user productivity in various situations.
Design
This tablet truly impresses with its size. Even for those accustomed to large gadgets, the new Tab S9 feels like a real giant. With dimensions of 209 x 327 x 5.5 mm and a weight of over 730 grams, it is noticeably heavier and larger than most devices in this category.
The aluminum body is complemented by plastic elements and, despite its slimness and impressive size, is exceptionally durable. It is available in two color options: graphite and beige.
Another remarkable feature of this tablet is its IP68 water resistance. This means that even unexpected summer rain or splashes at the beach will not affect its functionality.
Display
The Tab S9 is equipped with Samsung's modern Dynamic AMOLED 2X display technology, representing the latest generation of AMOLED displays. The device's screen impresses with its specifications: it measures 14.6 inches, has a 16:9 aspect ratio, a resolution of up to 2960x1848 pixels, and a maximum brightness of 930 cd/m², making the image extremely bright and clear. No other tablet in the world can boast such a combination of size and screen quality.
Color reproduction quality is impressive thanks to HDR10+ support, and Vision Booster technology helps colors maintain their brightness and saturation even under direct sunlight.
This tablet stands out from others thanks to the fingerprint scanner built into the screen—a feature that is not commonly found in similar devices. The scanner impresses with its speed and accuracy.
Sound
Improvements in the built-in speakers of the new model compared to last year's include a 20% increase in their physical size. As before, there are four speakers, and they are tuned using technologies from AKG, a company recently acquired by Samsung. The sound quality is impressive: high volume, wide sound spectrum, deep bass, and the sound does not feel flat. Additionally, this tablet supports advanced Dolby Atmos technology.
Performance
The Tab S9 Ultra operates on the enhanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is one of the most powerful solutions in the world of mobile technology, on par with Apple's M series processors. This tablet stands out with its impressive octa-core processing power. Its architecture includes one Cortex-X3 core running at 3360 MHz, two Cortex-A715 and two Cortex-A710 cores, each operating at 2800 MHz, as well as three Cortex-A510 cores at 2000 MHz. This combination of cores ensures high performance and responsiveness of the device. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 740 GPU, delivering excellent visual quality.
Under the hood, the device features 12-16 GB of the latest standard LPDDR5X RAM and built-in storage ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB (128 GB options are no longer available). Memory expansion is supported via microSD cards up to 1 TB.
It can be confidently stated that no program or game will lag on this hardware. Edit 4K videos in Luma Fusion, play Genshin Impact with maximum settings and 60 fps, watch movies in 4K, or work in multitasking mode—this device will handle any task with ease.
Battery
The Tab S9 Ultra is equipped with a powerful 11,200 mAh battery. However, due to the large screen and powerful hardware platform, the charge depletes quite quickly. Therefore, despite the large battery, the device's battery life without charging is almost no different from that of typical Android tablets.
With active use, the Tab S9 Ultra can last all day. In standby mode, it consumes energy very economically, losing only 2–3% charge per hour. However, games and resource-intensive programs can drain the battery in just two to three hours.
Camera
The cameras in the Samsung tablet, although a utilitarian element, perform their functions excellently. The front camera is particularly noteworthy with two 12-megapixel modules—the standard and wide-angle. During video calls, this camera can keep the face in focus, creating the illusion of eye contact by adjusting the position of the pupils and delicately retouching the image. It is not surprising that a special notch is required in the screen, as such complex technologies cannot fit into a narrow frame.
The rear camera consists of two modules—the main 13 MP and an auxiliary 8 MP. This is ideal for photographing texts, presentations, or scanning documents. Although using such a large tablet for artistic photography is impractical, capturing casual shots with decent quality is entirely possible with its help.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, everything is also top-notch here: the device supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Moreover, the tablet is now equipped with an updated cellular module that includes eSIM support, making the device even more convenient for the user. This adds convenience: if Wi-Fi is unavailable, you can always easily switch to mobile internet without searching for a physical SIM card.
As for NFC, it is not present in the tablet, but this is not critical. After all, you are unlikely to use such a large tablet to make purchases in a store.
