The Chinese company Huawei was for a long time focused on producing networking equipment. Over time, however, the manufacturer began releasing smartphones, laptops, and other personal devices. Under the dual-brand strategy, since 2012 Huawei started releasing smartphones under the Honor brand. The company positioned these devices as cost-effective. The main goal of creating the sub-brand was to compete in the mid-range segment in both global and Chinese markets.
Since 2016, Honor has achieved certain successes. Smartphones are sold primarily through online stores. However, following sanctions imposed by the United States, sales declined. Ultimately, in 2020 Huawei sold the brand to a Chinese manufacturer. By November of the same year, the first smartphone was released without the “Huawei” label.
Magic – flagship phones, always featuring the most innovative functions, powerful processors, and cameras. The manufacturer also emphasizes design.
X – smartphones aimed at mid-income consumers. The focus is on performance and long-lasting batteries.
Play – a line targeting gamers who cannot afford expensive phones.
The GT series positions smartphones as sporty, while the Lite series is budget-oriented.
Advantages of Honor smartphones:
Of course, Honor follows global trends. The company already produces foldable phones and collaborates with Porsche Design, resulting in the Magic V2 RSR—the thinnest foldable smartphone presented in early 2024. The phone was immediately called an innovative device that opens a new era in mobile phone design.
Today, Honor produces smartphones with a successful combination of price and quality. Tablets and other wearable devices are also available under the Honor brand.
