Differences Sony from the previous model?

Sony introduced the Xperia 10 VII as a precise response to complaints about the dull screen and average camera of the previous version. Brightness increased by about 22%, making outdoor use much easier without fighting glare. Battery life improved by roughly a quarter, which is noticeable on long trips. The camera became 18–20% more detailed — evident in clothing textures and small details in shadows — and the dynamic range expanded by around 15%. The body lost 6 g, which is subtle but shifts the balance, while thickness decreased by about 4%. Overall, the model is suitable for students, travelers who like to take photos on the go, and users who value a calm day without hunting for a power outlet.

Sony Xperia 10 VII design

Design and Feel

The body is built with a familiar combination of matte plastic and smooth aluminum frame, providing a warmer and grippier feel compared to glass competitors. The weight is 152 g — 6 g lighter than before — which improves the grip: the phone feels balanced rather than toy-light. The 7.8 mm thickness makes it easy to hold even with wet hands, and the matte back panel barely collects fingerprints. When rotating the phone in hand, you can feel that the center of gravity is closer to the middle, making one-handed typing on the subway easy without worrying about it tipping or slipping.

Display

The Xperia 10 VII once again focuses on the elongated 21:9 panel, which is now brighter and more vivid. Peak brightness reaches almost 900 nits, about 20% higher than last year’s level. In sunlight, colors no longer wash out — even light grays do not turn into white spots. The refresh rate remains 60 Hz, but contrast increased by around 12%: blacks are denser, noticeable in dark YouTube scenes and the interface. Colors appear natural, without aggressive oversaturation, so scrolling social feeds or reading text for long periods does not strain the eyes.

Performance

Inside, it runs a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with up to 2.4 GHz and 8 GB of RAM. Performance feels roughly 15% better compared to the previous model: the interface moves a bit smoother, and switching between social apps, navigation, and messengers no longer causes delays. In games, the phone performs moderately — simple titles like strategy games or racing run smoothly, while demanding games require lower settings. Heating is also quieter, and during long YouTube sessions, the body warms gradually without turning the phone into a hand warmer.

Software Features

The device runs Android 15 with a clean set of proprietary gestures and minimal embellishments. Transition animations are smooth, and speed remains consistent even after several days without a restart. Settings are logically organized: essential options like power modes and camera controls are easily accessible. Stereo speaker sound is denser than some models in the same segment, though without emphasized bass. In wired headphones, the dynamic range seems wider — likely due to the updated audio codec.

Battery and Charging

The 5000 mAh battery paired with a more efficient chipset provides around 8–8.5 hours of active screen time. YouTube consumes roughly 11–12% per hour, navigation up to 15%, and gaming about 20%. Compared to the previous model, battery life increased by roughly 25%, which is noticeable: the phone can be charged in the morning and still have about a third of power left by evening. Charging speed remains moderate, but battery degradation should be lower, as consumption throughout the day is more consistent.

Final Impressions

After several days of use, the Xperia 10 VII leaves the impression of a calm, well-built smartphone without flashy effects. It is suitable for those who value a lightweight body, natural screen colors, and a full day of reliable battery life. The camera has become more practical and handles challenging lighting better, although night mode still has compromises. For social media, music, streaming, and navigation, the phone has more than enough capabilities. The only missing feature is a higher display refresh rate, but otherwise, the model feels complete and intuitive for everyday use.
