The Chinese smartphone OnePlus 12R was released alongside the flagship 12 series. It is essentially the Chinese variant of the OnePlus Ace 3 and is sold on the international market.
General Specifications
The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with the Adreno 740 GPU for graphics. It runs on Android 14, with the Oxygen OS 14 overlay. The manufacturer guarantees 3 operating system updates and 4 years of security support.
RAM options are 8 or 16 GB, with internal storage of 128 or 256 GB, and no memory card slot.
The device dimensions are 163.3 x 75.3 mm with a thickness of 8.8 mm. The weight is 207 grams.
Display and Design
The display has a diagonal of 6.78 inches, with a resolution of 2780 x 1264 and an aspect ratio of 19.8:9. It is an OLED LTPO screen with a variable refresh rate of 1-120 Hz and PWM of 2,160 Hz. The refresh rate can be manually adjusted to limit battery consumption. The screen supports Dolby Vision.
At peak brightness, the display reaches 4500 nits, which can be adjusted automatically or manually.
The display is protected by one of the latest versions of Victus 2 glass. The front frame of the phone is made of aluminum, while the back panel is made of glass.
The phone screen is slightly curved and features an under-display fingerprint scanner. The signature slider is retained but has been moved to the left side of the device.
Cameras
The front camera has a resolution of 16 MP.
The main camera is 50 MP, the ultra-wide camera is 8 MP with a 112-degree field of view, and the macro camera is 2 MP. In daylight, the camera takes excellent photos with low noise and maximum naturalness. Contrast and color accuracy are high. In low light, the camera also performs well, providing a good dynamic range with detailed highlights and shadows. Pixel-level detail is excellent, with minimal noise.
The main camera records video at a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
Battery Life
The phone has a 5500 mAh battery. It features 100W fast charging. On average, it takes 25 minutes to reach a full charge when connected to a 220V network with the proprietary charger. Charging is through a USB-C port.
The device does not support wireless charging.
The OnePlus 12R features an excellent display and extremely fast wired charging. The device boasts high performance and good battery life.
