Differences Google Pixel 9a from the previous model?
Google does not release new smartphones very often, so you shouldn’t miss the 2025 release - the Pixel 9a. The device is in the mid-range segment and features several interesting new functions, including AI support.

Compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 8a, which had a main chipset one class lower - Tensor G3, the new device's performance has increased by 15-20%. Otherwise, there are no changes in RAM or storage. The manufacturer guarantees major updates for 7 years.
Battery capacity is 5100 mAh. Fast wired charging is only 23 W. However, compared to its predecessor, improvements are significant: the previous battery was 4492 mAh with only 8 W charging. The increased battery capacity adds an extra 6 hours of autonomy.
Display and design
The new model features a 6.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels. The predecessor had only a 6.1-inch display. Improvements also affect peak brightness, reaching 2700 nits compared to 2000 nits in the previous model. The adaptive refresh rate remains high at 120 Hz.
Dimensions of the new model: 154.7 x 73.3 mm, slightly larger due to the bigger screen. Thickness remains 8.9 mm. Despite the increased size, the weight is slightly lower – 186 grams versus 188 grams.
The frame is made of aluminum. The rear cameras have significantly changed in appearance and are neatly integrated into the body. Overall, the smartphone has a minimalist design. Available colors: black, white, purple, and pink.
Cameras
The rear has a 48 MP wide-angle camera and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera. There is an LED flash. Video can be recorded in 4K. The front selfie camera is 13 MP wide-angle, with panorama mode, and can record 4K video at 30 fps.
The predecessor had a 64 MP main rear camera, but the new model does not perform worse due to a better f/1.7 aperture, which captures much more light than the predecessor. This feature ensures high-quality night shots. Additionally, several useful functions allow removing unwanted objects from photos, and more.
Compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 9a is more autonomous and powerful. With guaranteed 7-year support, this smartphone is worth considering for purchase.
