In the case of the Pro version from Google, the device not only gets a larger display but also a more powerful processor, better cameras, and excellent design. The smartphone features slim bezels and a curved display. The body is made of metal and has a high level of protection against moisture and dust.
Technical Specifications
The device runs on an 8-core Google Tensor G2 chipset, which is produced by the smartphone manufacturer. Graphics are handled by the ARM Mali-G710 MP7 controller. The RAM can be chosen as either 8 or 12 GB. The internal storage options are 128, 256, or 512 GB. You need to decide on the internal storage capacity right away, as there is no slot for a card. The phone comes with pre-installed Android 13 OS.
The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh. The maximum power of wireless charging is 23 W, so it will take 2 hours to charge the device to 100%. There is also wireless charging at 23 W.
Design and Build
Overall, the Pixel 7 Pro has not changed much compared to the 6 version. The display bezels are minimal in thickness, with beveled edges. The front camera is placed in a separate cutout at the top of the display. The screen-to-body ratio is 88.7%.
The phone is quite hefty at 212 grams, but considering its dimensions, this is not surprising (162.9 x 76.6 x 8.9 mm).
The build quality is as always impeccable. It is a sandwich of glass panels, with an aluminum layer (frame). Naturally, the glass is of the latest version – Glass Victus. Color options: white, black, and gray.
Display
The phone features an LTPO AMOLED display with a 6.7-inch diagonal and a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. The refresh rate is up to 120 Hz. However, there is no option to manually select the refresh rate, only automatic mode.
The screen has 2 color modes – natural and adaptive. In "natural" mode, the color gamut is as close to natural as possible, though there is a slight shift.
Cameras
The phone is equipped with a module of 3 cameras:
main 50 MP;
48 MP telephoto;
12 MP ultra-wide.
All 3 cameras have optical stabilization, phase autofocus, and a dual LED flash. Images are sharp, with a wide dynamic range. There are no issues with shooting in low light conditions, though contrast and glare increase significantly when taking photos against the light.
The Pixel 7 Pro features a commendable design, is well-built, and offers good protection against moisture and dust (IP68). Naturally, the device comes with a clean Android 13.
