With the release of a new iPhone version, Apple fans always have many questions, the main one being whether it's worth upgrading from last year's model to the more modern one. The 15 Pro Max is no exception; people want to understand if it's preferable to the 14 Pro Max and if it's worth upgrading their smartphone.
The screen size hasn't changed, remaining at 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2796x1290 pixels. The display is made with OLED technology, Super Retina XDR.
The performance of the 15 Pro Max has increased significantly thanks to the installation of a more advanced main processor - the A17 Pro. The company intentionally moves away from the "Bionic" prefix and focuses on the gaming functions of its products in their chipsets. The A17 Pro is made with 3-nanometer technology, which not only easily handles large and graphically intensive gaming applications but also works significantly better with AI, increasing the device's overall performance. It can be confidently said that the new chipset offers a 10% performance increase. The graphics processor has improved by a whole 20%.
The RAM volume remains unchanged at 8 GB. The situation is similar with permanent memory, but the 15 model no longer has a 128 GB option, starting instead from 256 GB up to 1 TB.
Despite the fact that the 14 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max have the same resolution for the main camera – 48 MP, the latest version now allows you to choose from three focal lengths: 24, 28, or 35 mm. By default, the main camera settings allow shooting at 24 MP resolution, but if you select the HEIF or ProRAW format, the camera immediately switches to 48 MP. The wide-angle camera and telephoto lens have 12 MP each and retain all the characteristics of the 14 model.
The 15 Pro Max also features a 5x optical zoom, equivalent to a 120 mm focal length. In addition, the sensor of the new model is 25% larger than that of the 14 version's camera. At the same time, the manufacturer managed to maintain a large aperture of f/2.8. This result was achieved thanks to the "tetra prism" innovation, allowing light to reflect four times through the glass. This extends the path without increasing the physical size of the lens. Such changes will surely appeal to lovers of high-quality photography.
The battery life of the newer gadget hasn't changed, remaining at the same level, with the battery lasting up to 29 hours of video playback.
A pleasant innovation is the replacement of the outdated Lightning port with USB-C. This really makes the phone more versatile and faster when transferring information to or from the phone.
