Other Features
Last year's model received several improvements that make it stand out compared to the iPhone 14.
Notably, the screen resolution increased slightly from 2532x1170 to 2556x1179 pixels, and peak brightness rose to 2000 nits compared to 1200 nits on the predecessor, making it easy to view content in bright sunlight. The display size remains 6.1 inches with a Super XDR OLED screen.
The display supports Night Shift and True Tone technologies, which automatically adjust the screen according to ambient lighting, eliminating night glare and dull colors.
Another key difference is the Dynamic Island replacing the notch, an elegant screen cutout with adaptive resizing for notifications.
Cameras
The front camera on the iPhone 15 remains 12 MP with no major changes, but photos are richer and more contrasty thanks to Smart HDR 5, replacing version 4 from the iPhone 14.
The main rear sensor is now 48 MP plus 12 MP telephoto (same as iPhone 14) with optical zoom at 0.5x, 1x, and 2x. Photos from the iPhone 15 are hard to distinguish from professional cameras, with excellent detail and vibrant colors. A new portrait mode automatically detects faces in the frame.
Video recording remains in 4K with small improvements in cinematic mode.
Performance
The iPhone 15 features the advanced A16 chipset, delivering top-tier performance and energy efficiency. The phone quickly switches between tasks and delivers high-quality graphics.
The CPU has 6 cores, and the GPU has 5 cores, ensuring smooth performance for content and games. The chipset includes a neural engine connected to AI, improving voice recognition, camera quality, and battery efficiency.
Finally, the base model now has a USB-C port, making the iPhone 15 a truly universal phone.
