POCO, the brand, has introduced a new budget smartphone in the POCO M series. The key highlights of the POCO M5 include a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, a design with references to the Pixel 6 in a faux leather body, a 5000mAh battery, and a wide range of wireless interfaces, including NFC, IR port, and Bluetooth 5.3. The powerful (for its class) chipset is complemented by LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage, and the internal storage can be expanded with a microSD card up to 1TB. Data security is ensured with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. There's also a 3.5mm audio jack. It runs a POCO-tailored version of MIUI 13 based on Android 12.
As for the cameras, the POCO M5 features a triple-module main camera setup with a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture as the primary. It's accompanied by two 2MP sensors for macro and depth reading. The front camera is housed in a waterdrop notch with a 5MP resolution. Both the main and front cameras can record 1080p video at 30 frames per second.
