Samsung keeps up with its own traditions and annually introduces several new models of its own production devices. This year, the lineup of smartphones S24 was released, including 3 flagships. One of the interesting options for purchase will be the S24 PLUS version.
It's no secret that phones from this manufacturer are popular because of their power and style. The S24+ comes in 2 modifications:
with a 10-core Exynos 2400 chipset clocked at 1009 MHz;
with an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, clocked at 770 MHz.
Depending on the processor used, performance has increased by 16-18%.
Improvements have been made to the RAM capacity, with the updated model now having 12 GB compared to the predecessor's 8 GB.
Increasing by 4 GB is indeed noticeable, as it is now much easier to keep many apps and browser tabs open without a drop in performance. There have been no changes to the built-in memory, which remains at either 256 or 512 GB.
The battery capacity has increased and is now 4900 mAh compared to 4700 mAh in the predecessor. Naturally, such an increase cannot be considered significant, but the manufacturer assures that the new model can last for 20:41 hours of web surfing, while the predecessor only lasted 16:37 hours. The other features remain, including wireless charging and the ability to charge other devices.
Both compared models stand out for their simplicity and restraint in design, which is worthy of the premium class. The sizes of the phones are almost the same, with the updated version being slightly larger (by 1 mm) and 1 gram heavier.
However, the S24+ still has changed edges, which have become more straight, so from the front, the device somewhat resembles the iPhone 15 Pro.
Both devices are made of 700 series aluminum, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coating, glass with increased impact resistance. The color range has been slightly changed, with the 2024 model offering the following shades: black, gray, yellow, and purple.
The display of the S24 version is 6.7 inches, which is 0.1 inches larger than its predecessor. The resolution has increased and is now 2340 x 1080 pixels. But the main difference is in brightness, with the new model reaching a peak of 2600 nits compared to 1750 nits in the predecessor.
At first glance, S23 and S24 may seem like twins, but the newer model has received a number of improvements that have positively affected its performance. Moreover, the RAM is now 12 GB, which should be enough for several years. However, the choice is always made by the consumer.
