Differences Apple iPhone 14 series new model from the previous model?
This model was released in 2022, but in terms of specifications, the phone is still relevant today. It is a budget-friendly smartphone with all the features that should be in a modern everyday gadget.
Performance and Technical Features
Both the 13 and 14 series phones received the A15 processor. The changes only affected the number of GPU cores. The newer model has 5 cores, while the predecessor has only 4. The amount of RAM has increased by 2 GB and is now 6 GB. In addition, the type of RAM in the 14 version is LPDDR5, which shows better performance in data processing compared to LPDDR4X. At first glance, the changes may not seem significant, but the phone now works faster and smoother.
The newer model has received support for satellite communication. So even if there is no internet or GSM, you can call emergency services. The smartphone also features accident detection. Now the phone can detect a threat to the user in the event of an accident and automatically call rescuers. And to eliminate false alarms, the function is activated only 20 seconds after the risk is detected.
Cameras
Both phones feature 3 cameras: wide, ultra-wide, and TrueDepth front. All shoot at 12 MP resolution and have optical stabilization.
The camera of the 14 model does have real differences from the 13, namely, it is equipped with a brighter sensor with a pixel size of 1.9 μm, compared to 1.8 μm for the predecessor. In simple terms, the camera of the newer model performs much better in low-light conditions.
The cinematic mode has also been improved; now the 14 version shoots in 4K at 30 fps, while the predecessor could only manage 1080p resolution.
Changes to the front camera will appeal to users shooting in "talking head" format. The camera supports autofocus, whereas the 13 model only had fixed focus.
A nice addition is the Action mode. Thanks to support for this mode, image stabilization is activated, which is extremely important for shooting on the go. Vibration and random movements are stabilized using special software.
Display
The display features an OLED panel with a brightness of up to 1200 nits and a resolution of 2532x1170, which is quite good even in 2024.
The iPhone 14 model is the right choice for users who do not want to overpay but want to have a powerful device for everyday use and enjoy shooting a lot of videos and photos.
