In January 2024, the company introduced a new series of smartphones - S24. The main focus of the presentation was on the fact that all 3 new models are equipped with Galaxy AI artificial intelligence, which has allowed the devices to reach a completely new level.
Depending on the region, the entry-level model of the series - S24, is equipped with either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset or the Exynos 2400. It has 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. But the most important thing is that the processor supports AI, which means maximum expansion of the device's capabilities:
real-time translation during voice communication;
automatic translator in chats;
audio to text conversion with the help of a dictaphone;
Google search by circling an object with a finger or stylus;
improved photo editor functionality.
Naturally, these are not the only advantages of Galaxy Ai.
The device has a 4000 mAh battery capacity.
There are few external differences between S23 and S24. However, the newer model has slightly curved edges on the frames, they have become flatter and more straight.
The device features the highest level protective glass, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Thanks to the matte surface of the back cover, fingerprints on it are practically invisible.
Color options: purple, gray, yellow, and black. The phone has the highest level of dust and water resistance - IP68.
Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 model has a slightly larger screen diagonal - 6.2 inches. Thanks to thinner bezels, the screen appears even larger.
The display matrix is Dynamic AMOLED 2X, supporting LTPO technology. Together, this provides greater contrast and color saturation, with a high degree of black depth.
Peak brightness has been significantly increased - 2600 nits, compared to just 1700 nits for the predecessor. The display resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels.
Traditionally for the "S" series, there is a module with 3 cameras on the back - 50, 10, and 12 MP. The front camera is 12 MP. There have been no significant changes compared to the predecessor, but thanks to the implementation of AI-based technology, the quality of content processing has increased several times. This is especially noticeable when shooting in low light conditions, there is much less noise in photos and videos. Many innovative modes have appeared, such as object enhancement, background replacement, photo defect correction, and so on.
