In 2023, the Apple PRO 16 laptop received a serious upgrade. The most powerful processor in the entire PRO lineup is the M3 MAX. According to the manufacturer, this is the most powerful chipset ever released by the company for PCs.

Technical Specifications

The central processor operates on 16 cores, while the graphics processor operates on 40. In comparison, the predecessor of the 16-inch "PRO" operates only on 12 cores and has 19 integrated graphics cores. Therefore, the 2023 model operates 80% faster compared to its predecessor. And the GPU provides a 50% performance boost.

The base model of 2023 offers 18 GB of RAM, expandable up to 128 GB. Storage options range from 512 GB to 8 TB. The maximum memory capacity allows storing practically unlimited files without using external drives.

But that's not all. The M3 MAX chipset boasts energy efficiency, so the battery drains much slower, even when working with demanding programs, such as those designed for 3D visualization.

Peripherals and Design

The 2023 laptop received an updated Magic Keyboard. It allows comfortable typing, even for users with very high typing speeds. Plus, the keyboard has an improved cooling system that prevents it from overheating.

The updated PRO 16 has an aluminum slim body. The bezels around the display have become slightly smaller, making the device look more modern compared to its predecessors. Changes have affected the touch bar above the keyboard, which has simply disappeared. In its place are functional keys, as before, so the keyboard has acquired a classic look. The laptop comes in the same colors as previous models, plus the "Space Black" shade has been added.

Changes have been made to the camera's placement. Now it is located in the "notch," along with the light sensor, whereas previously it was above the screen. Thanks to this shift, the camera is easier to use during video conferencing.

Screen

Replacing the IPS Retina screen matrix is the more modern and progressive Liquid Retina XDR. It provides high contrast and brightness, wide color gamut. Therefore, the image on the screen has become more realistic.

The display operates with an adaptive frequency of up to 120 Hz using ProMotion technology. Now the screen adjusts brightness automatically depending on the surrounding light.

The laptop is powerful, productive, and autonomous. In video playback mode, it works without recharging for up to 22 hours.
